love the vivid descriptions of the atoll and the naval operations. It feels like a cinematic scene unfolding in slow motion with a touch of dark comedy.

Thank you so much. I research my topic before I write. This is a real place and I wanted to do it justice.

I am definitely going to follow your journey and read more from you !

Fun! and as someone else mentioned - very Douglas Adams. Will have to investigate more of your writing.

Thank you. Krikk Vraz: Assignment Earth is my tribute to Douglas Adams and Dr. Who. You will see more of Krikk and Buck in the future. Thanks.

Then tension right before he tries to cancel the bomb was amazing.

Wow. Thank you so much. It's probably one of the highest of compliments. I really appreciate it. It's kind of a huge part of it. Thanks again.

Wow loved it very much and I liked the whole atmosphere! It reads like the transcript of a movie! 🥰👍🏻

An unusual, engrossing and occasionally very funny piece. Very nice work indeed! 🙂 Even better the second time around.

Thank you so much.

I can't believe I read this and didn't post my comments! I thought them though really loudly in my head! I enjoyed the flow of character development and attention to detail. Your writing was well paced and thoroughly enjoyable! Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. I always wanted to write in film or television. I usually enjoy a story based on a real-life event or historic context. I look forward to continuing this story soon.

very well written, enjoyable story. I could see your characters, which is a must for me. If I don't identify with character Im done. Good job!!

Hey, thank you for stopping by. I appreciate the fact that you could see the story and relate. I'm really glad to hear that. Thank you, sir.

"For the first time in human history, one generation literally has the power to destroy the past, the present, and the future." This opening quote sets such a high-stakes tone for a story that masterfully balances sci-fi satire with the very real tension of the Cold War era.

Great to have your voice here on Substack, Matthew. Subscribed and look forward to reading more. I would love you to do the same, if my writing resonates.

Thank you so much. I learned from Frank Herbert to open a story with a quote. I owe it to him. I will check out your work. I appreciate it.

You’re welcome and thank you!

Loved it. Krikk is the very definition of "cool" 😎 his first combat with the navy pilots, just tearing apart their planes with vocal commands, whilst drinking a "space martini" had me very amused. Well done!

Ozarklore's avatar

Thank you so much for stopping by. One cannot be perturbed by pesky fighter jets during cocktail hour, no. More Krikk and Buck ahead. Thanks.

My pleasure. An Ozarklore post is a near guarantee of a good story! ☺️

And, can confirm, cocktail hour is essential for maintaining coolness under pressure!

Thank you so much for your kind words and I highly recommend Cirque de Vante to all. Cheers.

Spacd opera...with teeth.

Adding to that...very sharp teeth! Krikk although he will deny this, cares much about his job...after all he (it?) Has a stake in the outcome...

Ozarklore's avatar

Thank you, sir. I call Krikk he, but anything is fine, I don't think he would really mind, either.

Thanks for the kind words. Stay tuned.

Wow, this was a whole ride. Funny but with real lessons laid out. I loved the MC. Seems like someone I'd sit and have a beer with and laugh about how silly humans are.

Ozarklore's avatar

Hey, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it, especially from someone with your background. More Krikk and Buck ahead, stay tuned.

I'll miss it more than likely if you don't tag me or pop it in the chat. So please lmk when it's out 🙏

Thanks, for the request. Absolutely. Roger that.

This was very interesting. So much lore and tension throughout the story. The threat of nuclear bombs being accentuated by cosmic parasites brought an eldritch twist that I quite enjoy.

Hey, thank you very much for stopping by. I really appreciate your kind words. I'm so glad it resonates with you and many others. It's a great feeling. Thanks again. Much more Krikk and Buck ahead. Stay tuned. Cheers.

What a start! Two aliens fighting over Earth's future...usual story but different take on it.

Ozarklore's avatar

Thank you so much. It's hard to follow decades and centuries of greatness, I'm just trying to have fun and entertain. I'm so glad folks are liking Krikk Vraz: Assignment Earth. This is a series that has a lot of potential and I think I could write it for quite a while. Stay tuned. Thanks again.

Well done, sir. Kudos to the ever-resourceful Krikk.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed it. He definitely tries his best.

Haha, this was really fun, and I like that it gets crazier and crazier. Keeps you on your toes. Also, we could use more tributes to Douglas Adams.🫔

I found one odd bit: peering mouth open through huge binoculars,

--I assume he wasn't actually peering through his open mouth, Beetlejuice-style. Easy fix tho.
